NCPI also provides companion resources to this course: Crisis Intervention First Look: Focused Response for Veterans, Crisis Intervention First Look: Focused Response for Youth, and Innovations in Crisis Response: What CIT Programs Need to Know e-Guide.  The eLearning course Introduction to Public Safety De-escalation Tactics for Military Veterans in Crisis, developed by the UT Law Enforcement Innovation Center enhances the skills and capabilities of law enforcement officers and relevant first responders when encountering critical incidents involving veterans who may be in crisis. Breaking Barriers: Plymouth County Outreach’s innovative Police-Public Health Collaboration to Tackle the Opioid Crisis or Breaking Down Silos: How the Overdose Response Strategy Fosters Public Health and Public Safety Partnerships at the Federal, State, and Local Levels

You may be interested in Drug Identification and Recognition: The Opioid Crisis in America, a no-cost eLearning course developed by The National Criminal Justice Training Center of Fox Valley Technical College (NCJTC). This two-part course provides an overview of the chemical and legals classification of opioids and examines the national epidemic of opioid abuse. The following companion courses provide key information and safety measures that law enforcement and criminal justice providers can take when responding to varying substance related events: Depressants, Antidepressants, and Inhalants, Stimulants, Hallucinogens, and Dissociative Anesthetics.
